Guy Gregory, owner Gregory Design

I’ve been designing custom homes since 1993. During that time I’ve designed houses ranging from a 500 square foot cottage to a 20,000 square foot villa. Although they are all unique, they do have one thing in common. Every house was designed for the specific needs of its owner.

Your home should be designed you, your family, and how your family lives. Whether it’s a new build or a remodel, your home should fit your life and be a sanctuary, not a frustration.

Over the years I’ve seen so many people living in houses that just don’t function well for the ways they live. A home should be beautiful, even a work of art. However, if it isn’t functional for the people who live there, it isn’t good design.

After seeing so many homes that were designed to show well but not live well, I began to work out an approach to design that emphasized livability for the owner built into a beautiful design.

A common sense approach to design asks four questions.

Does the design solve the owner’s problem?
Is the design within the owner’s budget?
Is the design beautiful to the owner?
Will the design still look good in 30 years?
If the answer is yes to all four questions, it’s good design.

This is the approach to designing homes I’ve developed over the course of my practice. If you believe I can help you create your next home, or an improvement to your existing home, please contact me.
